Alex Gaglias composes and produces music for concert performances, films, video games and commercial installation. He also works as a piano accompanist, arranger and music teacher.
Alex Gaglias was born in Athens, Greece.
He studied classical piano and theory at Hellenic Conservatory, counterpoint and fugue at Atheneaum Conservatory, continued his studies at University of Bristol attaining an MA in music composition for film and television, and currently studying for the DMA in composition in Boston University.
He is an active composer in both concert and film music aiming in polystylism. He has written scores for full orchestra, chamber ensembles, solo instruments, short films, documentaries, animations and video games.
He also works as a pianist playing in ensembles, accompanying ballet classes, solo singers and choirs, as well teaching students of all ages and levels.
He produces his own music using live recordings and a large collection of samples and synthesizers, creating realistic orchestral and hybrid orchestral mockups for various purposes.
